Klickitat County Fire District #3 covers a diverse area of 50 square miles in southwestern Klickitat County, including Husum, BZ Corners, Snowden and the White Salmon urban growth area. Because of the terrain diversity they cover not only towns but also dense forest land, farmland and rural countryside. A population of 4,500 is protected by 3 fire stations: Husum, Cherry Lane, and Mountain Brook.
KCFD3 is an active, progressive Volunteer Fire District of well trained, dedicated volunteers and part-time paid staff with a strong, community-based culture offering a full range of emergency services with a strong focus on the delivery of BLS level emergency medical services to this Columbia Gorge community. The fire fighting force includes a part-time Chief, Assistant Chief and District Secretary/EMT as well as 30 volunteers. They continually train in order to maintain their fire fighting and EMS skills and to stay current with the latest firefighting techniques and equipment.
