The official report from the recent audit of White Salmon finances for 2007-2009 shows general compliance, but points out some problems:

In most areas, the City complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies and procedures.  However, conditions were identified significant enough to report as findings:

  • The City’s internal controls over payments are inadequate, putting public funds at risk.
  • The City’s internal controls over payroll are inadequate, resulting in errors and excess payments of at least $50,000.
